Draw the Anthropocene
The open and transdisciplinary working group of the University of Murcia Reset: Mar Menor – Laboratory of imaginaries for a landscape in crisis organized on Saturday February 17 its first activity, ‘I Draw the Anthropocene’. Around fifty people rediscovered the Mar Menor from a new perspective. By means of drawing and photography, the participants will analyze the impact of the human being on this area of the Region.
The exploration was completely free thanks to the funding of the Carasso Foundation, visited Corta Brunita (La Union), Portman Bay (Portman) and Los Urrutias (Mar Menor) under the guidance of Ángel Pérez Ruzafa, Professor of Ecology at the University of Murcia and member of the Scientific Committee of the Mar Menor; Diego Díaz, artist and professor of Drawing at the Jaume I University of Castellón, and Gregorio Romero, geologist, professor in the area of Experimental Sciences Teaching at the University of Murcia and member of the Geology Research Group.
From the organization explained that they used “the drawing as a practice of observation and knowledge of the territory. Scientific illustration is the guiding thread of this experience that also investigates the relationships between Art and Science.
